Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has begun an official visit to France aimed at strengthening economic and financial cooperation between the two countries. The visit includes high-level meetings with French government officials, investors and business leaders.

According to the Ministry of Finance, discussions will cover bilateral investment, financial sector collaboration, clean energy financing, industrial development and digital innovation. Both nations are also expected to explore opportunities for expanding trade and encouraging greater private-sector investment.

India and France have steadily expanded their strategic partnership in recent years, with growing cooperation across defence, technology, infrastructure and renewable energy. Officials believe stronger financial collaboration will further support long-term economic growth.

The visit comes as India continues to position itself as one of the world's fastest-growing major economies while seeking greater international investment in manufacturing and advanced technologies.

Economic analysts say the meetings could strengthen investor confidence and create new opportunities for collaboration between Indian and French companies.
