Oracle is significantly expanding its artificial intelligence infrastructure with record capital investment aimed at supporting growing demand for cloud computing and generative AI services.
The company recently announced that it expects to spend substantially more on new data centres during the coming financial year, including continued construction of the Stargate AI campus in Texas, one of the largest AI infrastructure projects currently under development.
Oracle executives said the investment reflects unprecedented customer demand from organisations deploying advanced AI models across industries ranging from healthcare and finance to software development.
The company has secured long-term agreements with major AI developers, including OpenAI, positioning Oracle as a major competitor in cloud infrastructure alongside Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
Although investors welcomed Oracle's strong revenue outlook, analysts noted that the enormous level of capital expenditure could place pressure on free cash flow over the short term.
Despite those concerns, Oracle believes the expansion will generate long-term growth as enterprise AI adoption continues to accelerate worldwide.
