Intel and Google have expanded their long-term technology partnership to accelerate the development of processors designed for artificial intelligence and large-scale cloud computing.
The collaboration focuses on Intel's Xeon processors, which continue to play an important role in handling AI inference, enterprise applications and general cloud workloads.
While graphics processors remain essential for training advanced AI models, traditional central processing units are becoming increasingly important for deploying AI services efficiently across data centres.
Google said the partnership will help optimise infrastructure performance while reducing energy consumption and operating costs for cloud customers.
Industry analysts note that the agreement demonstrates how AI is reshaping every layer of computing infrastructure—not only specialised AI chips but also conventional processors supporting enterprise systems.
As businesses continue integrating AI into daily operations, partnerships between cloud providers and semiconductor manufacturers are expected to become even more significant.
