Global oil prices moved higher on Tuesday as investors shifted their attention from easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East to longer-term expectations surrounding global supply and energy demand. Market participants are now closely monitoring production trends and economic indicators that could influence fuel consumption in the second half of the year.

Brent crude futures traded above US$72 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude climbed above US$69 per barrel, recovering after prices had largely returned to pre-conflict levels following the recent Iran-related tensions. Analysts said the easing of immediate geopolitical risks has reduced the market's risk premium, allowing traders to refocus on underlying supply-and-demand fundamentals.

Energy market analysts noted that expectations of increased oil production from major exporting countries have helped stabilise prices. At the same time, traders remain cautious as any disruption in global supply chains or renewed geopolitical tensions could quickly change market sentiment.

Attention is also turning toward demand from major economies, particularly China and the United States. Investors are watching economic data for signs that industrial activity, manufacturing output and transportation demand are strengthening, factors that could support higher oil consumption in the coming months.

For energy-importing nations such as India, relatively stable crude oil prices are viewed positively as they can help reduce inflationary pressures and ease the country's import bill. Businesses in sectors including aviation, logistics and manufacturing are also expected to benefit from greater price stability if current market conditions continue.

Industry experts believe the direction of oil prices over the coming weeks will largely depend on the balance between increasing global supply and the pace of economic growth. Any significant change in demand or unexpected geopolitical developments could lead to renewed volatility in energy markets.
