Banijay and All3Media in Advanced Talks to Merge TV Production Units in Major Media Deal

A significant consolidation is underway in the global television production industry as France’s Banijay Group, the company behind hit franchises like Big Brother and MasterChef, enters advanced talks to merge its Entertainment & Live unit with the TV production business of All3Media, a British producer known for Peaky Blinders and The Traitors. Sources familiar with the discussions say the proposed deal aims to create one of Europe’s largest TV production companies, with combined revenues estimated at around €5.7 billion.

The negotiations reflect broader industry trends, with traditional media companies seeking scale to compete against streaming giants such as Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video, which continue to dominate global content distribution. Strategic consolidation could allow legacy producers to leverage larger content slates and enhanced distribution capabilities.

While the discussions are reported to be at an advanced stage, neither Banijay nor All3Media — currently owned by investment firm RedBird IMI — have publicly commented on the potential merger. The outcome of the talks is expected to influence future production deals across Europe and internationally, particularly as demand for high-quality scripted and reality content grows.

Media analysts have noted that such a merger, if finalized, could reshape competitive dynamics in global entertainment and accelerate further consolidation within the sector.
