Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said President Putin congratulated President Trump on the 250th anniversary of the United States' Independence Day during the call.

According to the Kremlin, President Putin briefed Trump on the current situation in Ukraine and outlined Russia's position on the ongoing conflict. The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations and agreed on the importance of maintaining regular communication on military, political, and economic issues.

The Kremlin stated that President Trump expressed hope for an early resolution to the Ukraine conflict, saying that peace could create conditions for broader cooperation between the two countries.

The conversation comes amid continuing tensions between Russia and Ukraine and increasing international efforts to seek a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
