The Government of India has announced that the Monsoon Session of Parliament will commence on July 20 and continue until August 13, following approval from President Droupadi Murmu. The session is expected to be one of the most significant legislative periods of the year.

Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha are expected to debate a range of issues, including economic reforms, infrastructure development, agriculture, national security and social welfare programmes. Several important Bills are also expected to be introduced during the session.

Opposition parties are preparing to raise issues including inflation, employment, internal security and recent developments in various states, while the government is expected to highlight progress on infrastructure projects and economic growth.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said all political parties are expected to participate constructively in discussions to ensure smooth functioning of both Houses.

Political analysts believe the Monsoon Session will provide an important platform for shaping national policy ahead of several major state elections later this year.
